Mental Health First Aid Training

  • Are you aware of what to do when you encounter someone exhibiting the early warning signs with mental health concerns?
  • Do you know what to do when a mental health crisis happen?

As Christians, we are agents of change. You can be prepared to make a difference through the Mental Health First Aid Training.

 

The Catawba Valley District will host free training in Mental Health First Aid. Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that gives people the skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it does build mental health literacy, helping the public identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness.

Who is invited? Clergy and laity.

You must pre-register to attend.

All courses run 8 am - 5 pm.  Lunch is provided. We are offering 4 opportunities to participate in the training:

Clergy can receive continuing educational credits for the training upon request. Please contact the District Office or your instructor on the day of training.
